Suggested access to the valley
So that you can enjoy even more the beauty of the landscape of Valdeón (especially if you are a lover of photography) depending on the time of day you will arrive, we suggest you to enter the valley either through the port of Pandetrave or through the port of Panderrueda.
So during the morning our recommendation is that you enter Valdeón through the port located more toward the east, that of Pandetrave, in route from the town of Portilla de la Reina in the national N-621. The reason for this is that at these times the sunlight favours the beauty of the peaks of the Massif of Cornion located further west.
If, on the other hand, the arrival takes place during the afternoon, the best light will be seen from the port of Panderrueda, located to the west of the valley, with views over the landscape of the Massif Central or the Urriels located on the eastern slope. Panderrueda is accessed from Riaño via the N-625.
In either of the two ports there is also parking and signposted viewpoints to stop and enjoy the moment.
